Want to be more like Jesus? Remember this: Transformation happens through the renewing of our minds.
We become more like whatever we focus on the most. We can either conform to the world or to Christ.
🌍 Becoming like the world is easy; we simply go with the flow, watch what the world watches, and think the way everyone else thinks.
✨ Becoming like Christ means saturating ourselves in the truth of God’s Word and praying that the Holy Spirit would do what only He can do inside of us.
As the Holy Spirit does His work in us, transforming us from the inside out, we are equipped to walk in love and live in a way that pleases God.
I can think of seasons of life where I saturated myself in God’s Word, trustworthy teachings, and prayer. In those times, I had more patience, I grew in my love and service to people around me, and overall, I had more peace and confidence in God.
Just being honest, I’ve also had seasons where I made busyness an excuse for not spending time with God and not making Him a priority. “I’ll get around to it later,” I figured, excusing myself from my reasonable service.
When I neglect my relationship with God and let my mind focus more on other things, I have less patience, I’m quicker to snap at my husband over little things, and I’m overall more self-focused.
We become more like whatever we focus on the most.
