God’s Faithfulness in Every Season

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

Romans 8:28

With us in the trials.

all things work together for good to those who love God Romans 8:28Life feels like a crazy ride sometimes, doesn’t it? As much as we plan our course, sometimes life goes in a different direction. We don’t always know what is just around the corner and sometimes things just don’t pan out the way we expect. Relationships, careers, investments, opportunities, and life plans can come to a screeching halt without warning.

Although we can’t always predict the stability of life’s changing seasons and situations, there is still an anchor that holds through all of it. God’s faithfulness is a constant that doesn’t change or fail or turn its back on us. Life isn’t easy. We have a lot of ups and downs. Seeing God in the middle of it, whether in my mistakes or in my surrender, I know that His faithfulness isn’t dependent on my perfect performance.

God is always walking with us – even in the darkest valleys and deepest night seasons. He never promised life would be easy, but He does promise to be with us and to help us at all times. He is an “ever-present help in times of trouble.” He works everything out for our good, even if it’s hard. His comfort and encouragement have pulled me through many difficult seasons of loss and change.

He is never very far away, but our thoughts and feelings tell us He has left. No matter what we go through, God promises to be with us and hear us.

As I look back on God’s faithfulness in past seasons, it encourages me to fully embrace where I am while also fully letting go of where I’ve been. If God was faithful in past seasons, He will be faithful in this season. If He’s faithful right now, I know He will lead me to the best future He has planned for me.

God knows where we’ve been and where we’re going. He knows exactly what we need for the journey and what we can handle. If we are experiencing it, we can trust that God will turn it out for good. The situation is never too big for God. It’s just too big for us.

Challenge/Takeaway Action: What do you need to trust God with today? What’s the situation that has you doubting His faithfulness and sovereignty? What are you going through that has you feeling alone, distant, rejected, or unloved by God? I challenge you to give the situation to Him. God is the only One who can handle the brutal honesty of how we are feeling and what we are going through. He wants to be near you and to bind up your broken heart in this time. Pray and invite Him into this season of your life.
