“What am I supposed to be doing with my life?” 🤯
Few questions have stirred up more anxiety in my heart than this one.

As I searched for purpose and direction, it often felt like I was supposed to know exactly where I was going—as if I could somehow map out the next ten steps of my life.
Trying to figure out God’s big purpose for us can feel overwhelming. And sometimes it causes us to focus more on the future than on what’s right in front of us.
But God never asks us to figure out the future. He never tells us we have to know with absolute certainty where we’re going in life.
No one except God knows the future (James 4:15), and He rarely reveals everything in advance.
When we ask big questions like “Where am I supposed to be five or ten years from now?” we can easily overload our minds with questions we simply can’t answer.

We put pressure on our brains to figure out things we can’t see—things that haven’t happened yet.
Instead, a better question might be: What has God already given me that I need to steward well today?
Too much focus on the future causes us to overlook what’s right in front of us.
God leads us one day at a time. We don’t have to know the future. We are simply called to steward this day well.
Daily faithfulness is the goal.
God’s purpose for your life is a masterpiece. But it’s a mosaic—discovered one piece at a time.
Sometimes we spend our energy searching for something big, not realizing that our purpose is being formed through hundreds of small, faithful moments. One day at a time.
So let’s take the pressure off our brains to figure it all out right now.
Let’s reframe the question:
“What does God want me to do with my life?”
⬇️
“What has God given me to be faithful with today?”
God calls us to do the little things well today.
And ten years from now, we’ll be able to look back and see how He was working through our daily obedience all along.
Life isn’t about figuring out what’s ten steps ahead.
It’s about faithfully stewarding the present—what’s right in front of you today.
