![Have you ever been anxious about the future, wondering if somehow you will miss God's plan?
I used to think I could mess up God's will for my life by not figuring out His secret plan and making it happen. I thought by not making the perfect decisions, dating the right person, or working in the right job that His plan would be ruined. It all depended on me hearing God perfectly and doing everything just right.
What I discovered is that God's plans come to pass, not matter what. And we often don't even know exactly what those plans are.
Let's take a lesson from Job, who lost everything in a single day. Nothing about his life was understandable. Nothing about God's plan for his life seemed clear.
Yet with confidence Job said:
“But he [God] is unchangeable, and who can turn him back? What he desires, that he does. For he will complete what he appoints for me, and many such things are in his mind.” Job 23:13-14 (ESV)
We can trust that God is at work in the details of our lives, even when we can't see what He's doing. His ways are so much higher than our ways.
If we can trust that God is at work in the details of our stories today, then we can trust Him with the future. After all, the future is made up of a lot of todays 💗
